Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc or MGM, distributor of the James Bond and Rocky movies officially went to bankruptcy on November 3. MGM is an American media company which worked in the production and distribution of films and television programs. It was set up in 1924 when the entertainment entrepreneur Marcus Loew gained control of Metro Pictures, Goldwyn Pictures Corporation and Louis B. Mayer Pictures. MGM is known for its roaring lion logo. It has produced and released a lot of Hollywood’s best known film such as “Ben-Hur”, “Casino Royale”, “Gone with the Wind”, “Rain Man”, Series “Tom and Jerry”, and many other famous films. Although the MGM was broken, its films are still alive in the minds of movie fans all over the world.


The enormously successful Technicolor film “Gone with the Wind” was released by MGM in 1939.


“Ben Hur” or “Benhur” is an epic film made in 1959 by William Wyler. The film won a record of eleven Academy Awards
